NSW Traineeships
Traineeships are work based training programs which combine paid employment with structured training. Traineeships are based on industry endorsed standards and result in nationally recognised qualifications.
Training is carried out on the job, although some NSW traineeships have an off the job component which usually requires attendance at TAFE one day per week.
Before training can commence, the prospective trainee should apply to Central West Group Apprentices (CWGA) in the chosen industry.
NSW Traineeships - What types are there?

With over 500 classifications, traineeships have been introduced in many non trade areas like business administration, automotive, retail, small business operations, information technology and horticulture.
There are also a number of basic traineeships in trade areas which can be articulated into an apprenticeship with advanced standing. For example, automotive, metals, hospitality and electrical.
The type and number of NSW traineeships is constantly increasing as the need is identified by industry bodies.
For an up to date list visit the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) traineeships site.
